My claim is we live with and via violence which has biological and system-based grounds and reasons, violence which is rooted in our culture, in our body and there isn’t much we can do to remove the desire to see violence and be violent. Much is due to how we are brought up, where we live, what we have experienced, how we see our ways of solving our way ahead, what other people mean to us and how other people can be treated. What does it mean to be a human, a man and a woman. What kind of stand point we take to violence and what kind of things can be solved with hurt. Simply what do we see as hurtful and do we see hurt as part of everyday. To me it has been revealed as something many do not notice in their behavior and they see as justified action. The justified violence which is hidden behind good, cute and acceptable.
Violence that is a needed method to express when other methods are ineffective, used when other ways of living and solving are seen as naive is the normal, hidden violence is just as normal. Violence is a way to say my body and mind are powerful and you should be afraid of me. To rule with fear is a nonstop easy, a way to directly solve difficult human mess where digging deep is time-consuming and takes much work, mental effort, mental and spiritual growth. One example is the traditional way of finding honor in killing, via taking a life something is cleaned, purified and solved, ended. I have been wondering do those who commit honour killing mourn those who they have killed? Is it a victory to hunt and slaughter someone who has brought shame? How is this victory celebrated when name is cleaned and how clean do these people feel themselves?
Sadism is in details, in how we face or do not that other human being. It can be happening unknowingly without thinking following something that feels right at the time. Afterwards you can ask why did you do that and you do not find an answer other than it was fun, it was just a joke, I felt like doing so, I didn’t like her.. Answers usually are based on emotional feedback, on a whim, on a righteous arrogant idea of being on right path, emotional reward one’s body is feeding, situations when our minds are not reasoning us to behave otherwise. Sadism also follows grouping and an example, desire we maybe can’t explain. We become accustomed to it, it brings us joy of being above someone we consider pathetic and weak. Our need to measure weakness and strength is very much traditional in our cultural heritage, which is difficult to fight back. It is difficult to be nonviolent alone. What are biological, gender-based, cultural, religious, traditional and political reasons to put someone down is probably the most important question for us to solve for the sake of peace, for prosperity and finding a nonviolent world, as much as it possible to find.
 

 

Honor and dignity are serious matters, part of humanity, which dictate much in this world of people who seek to be respected and honored, but those two are also matters of opinion and choice, important what comes to women’s rights who often do not have freedom of choice.

The Status of Women in Islam vs Status of Women in other Civilizations and Religions

In this light people who still argue that feminism is not important or say it plays no role whatsoever to make lives better amaze me. Rights of women are vital to all of society. If women do not have a say over their lives and they are possessions who can be treated as objects civilizations do not evolve, we do not find equality, peace nor are able to let all people be the best possible persons they can. By violating women’s and girls’ rights continuously we waste human resources, we do not reduce suffering, poverty, ignorance nor oppression.

Women are under attack mentally and physically no matter which culture we live in. Female body and controlling it seems to be one stepping stone of those so-called developed countries and developing countries. Abortion, marriage, virginity as a prize for men, wearing clothes to hide her persona and sex in order not to disturb, in order not to be anything but domestic help and a subject of men, women under strict legislation and under contempt as unholy and ripped out of human dignity. Due to our religions and the heritage they bring women are under attack: mutilated, raped, diminished, killed and put down in a manner that is appalling and criminal. In Islam women are under supervision as children or worse as animals without say over their lives. Because of their sex and assumed notorious nature as men seducing beings, women who are a menace to whole of society for their sex and sexuality are outcasts, outlaws and whores by nature, vicious with demonic qualities.
As I look at womanhood of mine and place it as it is, it has been nothing but a threat to others. Something for somebody else to want and use. Under looking-glass, under severe observation and talk, under sheer contempt and ill where women as persons and people are put without second thought. It is alarming since I have thought we live in a civilized country. Country that considers it civilized, but there is a big BUT. As civilized as we are we rely much on religion. As secular as Finland seems to be in its modernity we like our Christian values. As does Europe. Christianity on one hand is not modern. It is ancient as is Islam. Unchanging and relying on that. Whether we wish to be ancient or modern seems to vary on the matter at hand. We like our technology and our progress faith wipes out for example historical architecture if there is profit in sight. What comes to marriage as an institution and deciding over fetuses life there are puzzling traditionalist voices that are loud and listened to whether they are valid or not. Violence of religious fundamentalists is in their voices and in their deeds. Is violence God’s work? I seriously doubt that.
Threat of sexuality is that it affects our morals, our behavior and how our children become to see what society is and can be. We are very sexual beings, we express our sexuality with everything we do whether we deny sexuality or let it show as it is. Everything is expression. Sexuality cannot be escaped therefore it is dangerous. Do people who deny variety of sexual behavior have high morals?

Woman in a bar alone has set connotations, she has intentions. She is there for a reason. What is she wearing, how is she sitting, how much is she drinking, what is she doing. How to look at her, can she be approach, what to say to her. Threat of womanhood, woman who is pathetic if he is alone. Woman cannot be alone, she is attacked, her intentions are there on her stamped. Her loneliness is her burden and fault. There is something wrong with her.

Do you see in the dark?

It gets mighty dark among people as they do not see themselves, or if they see themselves, are what they want to be and like their image, it is a pretty fucked up picture. What happens when people have an object value only? When our world becomes webbed with help of technology, becomes more and more abstract and hidden, more and more we think we are cleverer than we are, groups of those geniuses support each other doing the same thing and looking for mastering of other people. Mastering people takes masters of technology. What kind of gangs of people rule our spaces? Who gave them power over spaces all people are free to use? What kinds of assets and skills are appreciated, what kind of characters and personalities? They are usually the loud ones, who seek attention and appreciation within their group. 

My theory is that these men and boys who do cyber bullying do not have much contact with women, do not know different kinds of women, do not want to know. For them woman is an image with few dimensions. An image that is done and closed up without any change, without variety, without any other meaning than to please silently and pose. These males come from a world of chauvinism, sexism and tradition thinking they are funny, intelligent, righteous and manly. They are appreciated as they are continuation to tradition of being men.

Within their group they may seem strong, alone they are nothing which is a strange contradiction in image of appreciation they may be in. Hiding behind fake names anonymously is a coward act itself. That is the manhood of theirs, fear of losing it. They game in a way they can nothing but win, which is in a group anonymously. Greatest fear is to be beaten by a woman, a woman who has more skills than they do. This is very clear as men want to be on top to manifest their manhood. It is no surprise that women have to be better than men on any field.

For such men woman is merely a sex object, typically stereotypical, child-like, incapable. A repetition of a repetition, just like Hollywood film and mainstream entertainment want to show women over and over again, as needy and weak, overly sexual sub-beings, who are still contradictory demons not to be trusted, wicked and evil. In this kind of culture woman is something to take over and rule, tame to be obedient. To actually face a woman as equal or superior would be losing strength, losing an old ideology that has prevailed too long. Ideology of place of a woman and use of a woman is now to be changed. Woman is still used and treated as she has no will of her own, therefore it is a shock in a community when there are women who act up, use, speak up, make and do regardless of do they get respect and are they acknowledged or not. Such women need to exist for culture to change. Women need to do what they wish, not what other people wish they’d do.

Yes fear of violence keeps women in place. I hope women would learn to be fearless and stand up for themselves. Do it now!

It is a demand and fight for human rights to happen for women, children and men, for indigenous people and other beings who are persecuted because of their gender, ethnicity, background, religion, sexual orientation, disability, difference of any kind to defend those who cannot defend themselves. In this regard feminism is not a cause of women only ideology and movement. Women contribute much in welfare in all society starting from home and neighborhoods. Feminism is a necessity and vital opposition against tyranny of corporations and traditions which are creating illusions of perfection and what is right. Feminism is opposition to tyranny of man, tyranny of people as products, against objectification, against tyranny of color, size, ideologies, values, tyranny of finance and irrational decision-making. Women are and have been enslaved to the illusion of perfection, an image of manipulative created clone giving pleasure and finding security through being desirable. In addition to that women are caretakers, providers, producers of new people biologically, socially, culturally and traditionally. Educating girls to their roles as girls, future women, persons and people begin from very young age. We are manipulated to know what is our part. Somebody else knowing what is anybody’s place and meaning in this life is the root of inequality and injustice. A practice of likable personality is a kind of survivalist plan within patriarchical society. Practices of girliness, manhood and womanhood to set security, heterosexual practice of servitude, obedience and slavery. Woman is foremost a sexual being whose sexuality must be controlled and whose body is a possession and is either holy or cursed, disrespected and impure. Situation is such for millions and millions of women. Women who do not have a choice but to breed and feed and protect their honor which is also honor of man and family. There are tasks in society given to women on grounds of natural and on grounds of how things have been done before. How women should look like, what are feminine features and things to do. The whole gender issue should be addressed in technological language as women are much seen as objects and machines. Place of woman falls on her systematically and orderly without much questioning and without many wanting to change that pattern. This is how the factory functions, orderly producing brainwashed products. Case in many countries is that women have the part of reproduction and serving, which is fine if it is voluntarily chosen path in someone’s life. Why such control over women is still possible? How the kind of social factory has place anymore? Why woman needs to be put into a position of a dog and why women stay in that given place?

What do religions mean by standing on foundations of supernatural and having authority to define the natural, through belief and tradition? It is a fact that science has developed in an enormous speed and has proved evolution and shown us how nature works. What is the difference between fact and fiction must be clear for any sane person. Belief and concrete evidence of our biology do speak different tongues. That is what we are biological beings, part of nature. No I am not denying faith nor divinity, to me they speak differently than any religious doctrines and heads of churches.

Why female body continues to remain the main object of terror and possession of man? Women are still fighting for human rights to happen on many levels. But all in all women’s rights have taken big steps forwards globally during couple of decades, lots is still to be done. It is astonishing how heavy the battle is.

When I open my eyes, what do I see? There is despair in the air, panic of losing, youthful looks as possessions to be sold as anything else. But why be bothered by this? There is nothing I can do to change the whole culture, only myself. Quickly before it fades away. Beauty is glue, people glued luring gazes looking for something to steal. It is a weapon as well as punishment, the gaze. Punishment of being watched, looked at. Why does it hurt? I should enjoy of the stares, where else people should place their eyes than to each other.

Ritual blood spill.

Feminism as I see it, is part of humanism in a profound and attached, combined way, it cannot be chopped off for the reasons like it sounds old-fashioned or it does not glitter enough.  So does philosophy for some, sound like. It does not work or you don’t like, which one? Or you don’t want the stigma?

Humanism would be missing its body part. Humanism is our consciousness. We can hope for it not to be paralyzed, cut to parts that can’t understand each other, as it now seems to be the case. There are women who like to say that they are not feminists ( for some reason those who get to say it so it becomes news are American, ”I am this and that, but I am not feminist”..), those same people believe in strong and equal womanhood, strong woman, strong human, what is that, in terms of capitalism, what is a strong human in terms of humanity? Being above what, that other, giving orders or as strong as, as good as, but different. Problem is in seeing feminism as counter activism, against any other, like an outer negative force that wants to put parts of society in feminist kind of order. I have one request for every woman, if you do not relate to feminist why bring it up at all. Be a good sport. It’s good to be good. Women if they feel strong and are capable of acting out in their society as respected members are bound to feminism and its achievements, due to fighting for equal human rights most women can vote, be part of politics and speak their mind.

Disrespect for feminism is disrespect for humanity.
