Importance of remembering Suffrage movement and what it has meant.

http://time.com/4079176/suffragette-word-history-film/ ”The word suffragette, however, was used to describe strictly women, the type who were disrupting local meetings and spitting on policemen, the type who were getting arrested and going on hunger strikes in prison and, in one case, taking an axe to a famous Spanish painting of Venus admiring herself in a mirror, which happened to be hanging in London’s National Gallery.”
It is an important movement for me personally as I identify with them and their cause which is a cause for all women and their children, generations to come, message so important that it lives on. I compare Femen with Suffrage movement. They are both powerful, they both make me proud and emotional, proud that such people exist. Suffragettes were and are so important it is a crying shame they haven’t been more widely applauded and are easily forgotten. This I gather is due to their gender, straight forward message, hostility towards oppressors, methods which were direct, uncompromising and fearless action without avoiding self-harm. And harmed they were, mentally and physically, to fight for women’s equal rights was so appalling an idea that at the time there were women and men who openly showed their disrespect and hate. Suffragettes were treated like criminals. The amount of influence Suffrage movement accomplished globally to achieve is something we can’t deny. It is monumental and lasting. The power women can have, the determination and will to change living conditions and unjust ruling of women out of the politics when it is lives of women and children that are used and abused without them having a say over. It is still intolerable that child labor has not been abolished, that 2/3 of the illiterate are women http://unstats.un.org/unsd/gender/worldswomen.html, that religion dictates women inferior to men turning them into sex slaves, home bound maids who have nothing else to expect or protect than be obedient and have honor which is the most prized possession. When woman loses her honor she becomes worthless and can be killed. This is what is the religion of ISIS and it is the case of online bullying, sheer misogyny where women are not capable thinking people but objects of sexual fantasies and abuse who do not have any business in entering areas and places dominated and ruled by men.
There are people who say feminism and women’s right movements do not have a job anymore, that they are old and worn out. What kind of people say that? In what kind of world do people who do not see how women are treated today live? It is good to pay attention and yes it is good to change tactics and ways of protesting when old ways do not do the wanted visible mark and make change, because there is a lot to do.

Feminism is against fascism, slavery, discrimination of any kind, bullying, killing, abuse, extortion, torture, rip off and exploitation. Feminism is for equal human rights, freedom of expression, peace, right and freedom to live in peace, freedom for everybody to speak their minds, to be heard, taken seriously, respected and valued as individuals who are feeling and thinking people.

To those who this rings bells you might be a feminist. Feminist the activist, advocate of rights of women and children and therefore of all people, boys and girls. Feminist usually is a woman who is not afraid to speak up and act for those who need help, are in need and she helps herself because there often is a deep personal experience of discrimination, sexism that has happened over and over again in patterns and ways that do not change until they are forced to change. Feminist is the one who is not afraid to be trashed by many for her belief in equality, to be herself, who is not afraid to protest in a way she sees fit, usually in provocative way making many angry because there truly are plenty of people who do not want human rights for all nor equality to apply all, people who want to protect rights of the rich, white females and males, protect power of the elite, white power, male power, patriarchy or whatever that is called nowadays. Feminism is not a movement that would not have a mission today, quite on a contrary. It has got plenty to accomplish.
Why is this so confusing?
http://radicalsoapbox.com/is-neo-liberalism-really-fascism-light/ ”This elite owns the privatised public sector, which includes gas, electricity, water, telecommunications, airports, air traffic control, airlines, railways, bus services, and most recently the Royal Mail. The outsourcing companies run an ever-increasing part of our public services, covering social security, correctional services, employment services, the NHS, the disabled, the educational sector, the care sector, etc.
Today, it is conveniently forgotten that the financial base of household names such as ThyssenKrupp, Mercedes, BMW, VW, Porsche and Hugo Boss all came from the vast profits made under the Nazi government, when there were no unions, few regulations and cheap labour – very often slave labour from the concentration camps.

Among many things that are fucked up homelessness is the one that is on the list of immediate to deal with and abolish.

It has been something that I feel very strongly about. Everybody has a right to have a home. It is a human right and therefore an acute issue for governments to take action over since it is a serious human right violation and a kind of bottom from where it is difficult to get up on one’s own. It is a duty of nations to provide affordable housing for their citizens. It is the least you can and must do. To comprehend why this is not happening is extremely difficult, but I try. Why do we have nations? What are nations for other than making profit for the rich, for corporation, to provide cheap labor, infrastructure and tax money to exploit? Since it is Christmas time and according to latest statistics in Great Britain alone there are thousands of homeless people, we are obligated to act upon it, to help. Those who are the lucky ones and have roofs over their heads, who have means to do something, what can you do? http://www.homeless.org.uk/facts/homelessness-in-numbers

What would be the most helpful thing is to radically lower prices of rents, to regulate how much is the limit above which prices do not go. Housing is an area of business in which people ruthlessly exploit lives and livelihoods. When paycheck is not enough to pay the rent government is not doing its job. Extortion and rip off that is what is going on and is outrageous, wrong and unjust. “Nobody should be in the streets; that is the problem with this whole thing,” said Sandy Perry, a minister and outreach worker with the Affordable Housing Network who has been at the Jungle daily trying to help. While he agrees that the Jungle, with its piles of garbage, buckets of human waste and now rising creek waters, “is not a nice place to live,” Mr. Perry said the city ought to have a better plan for homeless people in general.

More than a few of the encampment residents said they were victims of rent increases. Yvonne Vabiseo grew up in San Jose and had a job and an apartment until recently. “I worked at Dollar Tree,” she said. “I had a car and my own place.” She lost her job just as her rent was raised, prodding her into homelessness.” http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/05/us/driven-from-silicon-valleys-jungle-homeless-face-limited-options.html?smid=tw-nytimes&_r=1

Declaration of Human Rights and the reality. How do we find equality?

Is it even possible? Declaration of Human Rights from year 1948 distinctly puts out basic needs and requirements for people to find good life. As distinctly it is true although UN vowed after the Second World War to act against such cruelty and atrocities that took place during the war there has not been anything done that would have stopped genocides and ethnic cleansing from happening till this day. UN has been slow in stopping, acting out, punishing, revealing crimes against humanity and finding criminals. For example US has been involved in many cases which clearly have shown to be acts against international law, human rights and any kind of right mind.
Declaration of Human Rights is a utopia and a dream of people who like to speak beautifully, reality turns out to be different. Still it is document worth having. When will this document manifest itself in real life is yet to be seen and when will UN keep given vows. I can hear the defensive arguments. Of course you cannot stop mass murder from happening. It happens all the time. During war in Bosnia women were put to rape camps, like in Congo where rape has been common tool of using power and taking dignity of women. By shaming, raping, humiliating and killing wars go on.
