You can look at the evidence and still not believe because of your bias and what you have heard from a reliable source? What we learn to believe true may also affect, who do we think is reliable and why do we think so. To think for yourself is much advised, always reconsider, always look for a second opinion, maybe even third.
 
 

 

Anyone who embraces one’s femininity is brave because being feminine in every day is seen dangerous and inviting.

Dear diary: This is my experience on the matter of being feminine which I am without much effort and which I sadly have felt i have had to hide because it attracts attention I do not want and to be feminine is of course inconvenient when doing art especially sculpting, which is funny. It is an imitation, camouflage and forgetting one’s outer self to find the correct way of being and doing art. I stopped using mini skirts and heels when I went into art, dove into the world of macho art and the doing art as work. Appearance comes second when one does work that is all consuming, but as I have learned it has a significant meaning. That is why I resent that my appearance is more important. I place my work first. I wish others would do the same. My gender and appearance are issues at work always and always.

Therefore I have decided to embrace my femininity again and bring it on. What does it even mean to be feminine? Or to have too much feminine look? Is all about the look?

Isn’t it strange to live in a world of illusions, in a world where there is talk that means nothing, if it means something it is to hurt, advertise and just talk to make noise without a pause, where there is talk just to make time pass, to make conversation: How are you doing and so on. To talk of other people’s businesses as they were your business is a form of therapy. The kind of self-help in which there is no self-reflection in a healing manner, but there is something to be let out. What that something is can be quite  violent and brutal emotionally negative junkyard bringing joy for those who take part and like to roll over in that mud of human mind. Gossiping has been a way to interact, take part, inform, keep the community rules traditionally old-fashioned and in force effective without change, talk behind one’s back to keep on shaming, a punishment that should be feared and avoided. Gossip makes a division clear, there are those others who do things we would not do. Gossiper does not face oneself, there isn’t progress other than growing news in the air which can be shared with friends. Gossip is jewels and something to own. This form of collective therapy does not change those who take part in spreading the info. It is meant to uplift the morally stronger, those who hide but enjoy dirt like pastry and it is meant to be fun for those who do it, to see those below who are targeted and betrayed, hit in disguise from behind the corner. It is a form of lying as there is no blame for those who gossip. They are released and liberated. They are doing the ground work for creating public fables and facades which last for decades for those who hear and read tales created.

Knowledge which is private, personal has gotten out there, a secret which is forbidden to talk about. Knowledge of the wrong of sharing forbidden info is part of the fun. Danger is there but it is on the good side who knows what is good. Vice made honorable by a crowd who share and agree. The most important things are the need to know, need to talk, what else? What gossip is all about is deeply rooted and a culture of old habits that will not vanish. Gossip is culturally an important phenomenon without a doubt and a huge part of our daily culture, a massive part. Interest in what people unknown to us do, how they do and why is not all about hurt and domination. Who dominates what plays an important role as well. What is true, what is said, what is left untold and why a lie is more easy to believe than the truth. What kind of images we want to see and believe are true, how we reflect and compare ourselves make curious predictable patterns. There is desire to imitate. We maybe admire those who expose themselves, who want to be under observation and the looking eye. How are we so trapped by vulture culture enjoying all it brings? For some reason there is demand and supply, a never-ending need to bring out the worst features and shallowest of us in front. Impacts on all of society are profound.

Ai millainen kuva minulla on Suomesta. Se kulminoituu hienosti kuplina ja raja-aitoina joita on vaikea kaataa tahi ylittää. Toki puhetta ja keskustelua on runsaasti, että pitäisi tehdä sitä ja tätä, mutta päästäänkö puusta pitkään onkin toinen juttu eli tapahtuuko toiminnan muutosta, totuttujen kaavojen ja käytäntöjen muuttumista niin että yhteiskunta ravistuisi todella ja uudistuisi ajatuksiltaan, teoiltaan että ilmastoltaan. Suomea ja suomalaisia edelleen vaivaa yllätyksettömyys, rahan perässä juokseminen, sanomisen ja tekemisen pelko, pienet piirit, epämielyttävän ulkopuolelle sulkeminen. Kohtaamattomuus, ja uskalluksen puute jähmettävät koko kansakuntaa haluamaan ainaisia samoja asioita. Jähmettyneisyys tulee erinomaisesti esille taideyliopisto Aallossa, joka on luonut itselleen kaikkivoipaisen ja puhtoisen imagon paikkana, josta ponnistetaan saavuttamaan uraunelmia. Ajatuksellinen, opetuksellinen ja taiteellinen anti on kovin laiha ja tuntuu pyörivän vanhoissa hyviksi koetuissa uomissaan. Hyvä on kapea, jo nähty rata ja laihanlainen. Elitistinen leima ei katoa eikä sen halutakaan katoavan. Elitismi, muuttumattomuus ja hierarkisuus ovat osa Aallon imagoa ja kompastuskiviä. Eläkevirat ja samojen naamojen pyöriminen samoissa kuvioissa eivät auta asiaa, joka olisi toimintakulttuurin muutos. Tavat tehdä ja ajatella laahaavat jossakin kultaisissa vuosissa. Yritysraha ja suuryritysten kanssa vehtaaminen kelpaavat liiankin hyvin, epäpoliittisuus, aktivismin puute, tietämättömyys, kiinnostuksen puute ja poliittisuuden suoranainen karttaminen lyövät leimansa siihen mitä opitaan, miksi tullaan, kuinka ollaan, mitä opetetaan ja millaisina pysytään. Yritysten kanssa hyvää pataa -leikissä kärsii se, mitä varten yliopisto on olemassa. Pelko lamaannuttaa, puolueellisuus ja hännystely vievät shampanjasosialistilta kärjen ja pohjan. Kritiikkiä, erityisesti sellaista suoraa palautetta, puhetta ja tekoja jotka pyrkivät repimään elitistisiä vanhentuneita rakenteita hajalle kartetaan, halveksutaan ja pelätään eikä osata kohdata saati haluta kuulla, muuten kuin tuhahtamalla ja puolustautumalla naurahtaen (aha ha). Kritisoija on valittaja ja saa hankalan henkilön maineen. Suomi ei ole vieläkään oppinut, että hankalat ovat niitä, joita tarvitaan jos muuttuvassa maailmassa haluaa pysyä kärryillä. Mainehan se on josta tässä on kyse, josta Aallossa on kyse; Suomi-kuvasta, sen kiillottamisesta, puhtoisesta imagesta, johon ei liiallinen yhteiskunnallisuus, poliittisuus ja kriittisyys luo varjoaan. Suomen puhtoisuus on melko likainen ja säröttömyys kuviteltua pintaa. Jos mielenkiintoista keskustelua, tekoja, designia ja taidetta haluaa tuo jämähtänyt lika on pystyttävä kohtaamaan ja korjaamaan. Se on itsekritiikin paikka. Muutoksen tekeminen on vaikeaa, toivottavasti ei ylitsepääsemättömän. Toivoa sopii. Tietysti rahaa tarvitaan, eihän sitä ilman tulla toimeen diibadaapa. Pidätän hengitystä kun paska haisee.

Does it often become to be something never was expected or what is expected of revolution? What is expected of people making revolt? What is expected of us all in the sense of revolutionizing something and what needs to be turned over? Born out of totalitarianism, what origin is that? Could depression be the most underestimated source, result and cause of our grief, most hidden, most stigmatizing illness there is, and therefore the least treated disease?
To admit depression is seen a sign of weakness. Admitting illness and search for help are difficult things to do, often help is not close by or within reach at all. Person can be in a dead-end situation with two alternatives; suicide or to find immediate treatment. Stigma illnesses like depression carry is heavy like a ton of weight. It is metallic, brutal and cold. So as there are people who do not ’believe’ in psychotherapy or that mind can be cured by talking and being listened to; there is a lot of work to be done to banish the load of prejudice that mental illnesses carry with. Since world is a very violent place, questions about mental illnesses such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression are very accurate and situation is worrying. How are you going to deal with it OBAMA-mama? Preaching and pretty talk is not enough. Sing O, sing.

World looks like a fucking depressive place. And it is. Wanna make a joke about it?

Complex personal problematical and going inside one’s head like the arts poses to be doing, but is afraid. Afraid of not being sellable enough. How pathetic is that? VERY.
afraid the talk about agony, tearing up, falling apart mentally.. in reality one has to hide and act the life away. Cheers to that! It is ok to talk about financial depression, it’s a worrying thing.
