Killer, 2021- from online mugshots of women, an ongoing process of drawings and paintings, pencil on paper and acrylic on canvas. Depicting the changing face, controlled and uncontrolled, interested in the unmanipulated face, face turning into something else virtually, mess of pigment but reminding of human. Are we erasing the human or is human the brutal and violent that remains? Painting process which doesn’t try to achieve perfection of the face, the painting is not perfect, face is what it is. Image is a testing site as seems to be human him- and herself. Dangers there how we ‘evolve’ and our image is altered are known, we are losing trust, losing the natural face, aging process is something that makes us unworthy, youth, which is a competition, maybe that is why dangerous female criminals found themselves on my canvas, usually having killed a husband, they have destroyed their own lives and taken a life, which brutality I find online, which it is, a dangerous place in many ways to our minds and societies as a whole, people hiding as someone else.
