Hi guys, how about that social change guys? You are doing it so well guys, a lot is happening out there isn’t it. We need some social change guys. We need it pretty quick guys.

Go social changing, I’m waiting. Kind of slow, don’t you think. Lot of obstacles on your way there guys? Social change is like sex change, you need a surgeon to do it.

Wearing my garbage

The part art plays in creating screens in front of ideological constructs, politics, conflicting interests and problems so that issues won’t be dealt with but swept under the carpet, forgotten and washed since the cause is obviously good as art is in the picture. That truth is not visible but toyed with, manipulated in the name of good for all. PR and visualization at the expense of quality and equality. True interests of big players stay hidden and artist is merely a button.

It is not news many people with conservative leanings have a tight relationship with art. To hang out and know artists is somewhat of a cliché in which posing and supporting is a merit to have. I have wondered why such culture holds on so persistently and why there are artists who allow art to be used for politics and a means for hype of public relations. Some artists are in desperate need for recognition and funds. It is almost a default and expectation for an artist to think and be in need, assumption of what artist wants, is for and must do is to lure money. What is the advantage there to be had for one with means and a cause to promote? Power of art is quite mighty because of many illusion made by Art History and how art is still portrayed as a saving force, struggle and possible win, a trophy. Social status, intellectual smoke screen, intellectual dishonesty, advertising and pretending go hand in hand, grandiose can appear pretty hollow. It may be an easy-looking path to be an art lover but what does it mean to really love art? Lovers of art are uplifted by art, moved but are the changed by it? Meaning of art is and can therefore be huge.

Turn your world into a canvas, turn it into marble and you are the one with chicle, imagine yourself as a maker. It is such chocolate box romanticized image as is the grande artist who creates extraordinary visions to marvel and admire. To glue this vision on which is the dusty load from Art History used over and over again as it does not grow worn out: Divinity at play. Cult of genius lives on since it is appealing to many. To be an important visual artist is still a pedestal many wish to be on and many institutions like to abuse. Isn’t that the most important job for art especially for people who have power to use art to boost themselves, power positions and causes for which art is used as an extension to mark character and public image as art friendly and cities as cultural capitals and centers. Art signifies intellect for some, civilized and uplifting ground which supposedly lifts up, makes something new constantly and is looking forward, is looking into the future with new eyes, ideas and supposedly new kind of cash flow. Money stays in the hands of the few no doubt. Money and art go together in some cases like the crook and possibility for a blow up, too much talk, promise and a grin, yes we are so happy up here. It is often made to look like that art is for all people when it is to create power position and strengthen it. There are many reasons to love art and all kinds of love. Sounds cynical doesn’t it, and it is. Or what do you think when Guggenheim report to investigate is museum profitable in Helsinki is only in English and translated only when protested, that the museum is told to be experimental and focus on development of something, I’m not quite sure of what, Helsinki art scene? Well it sure does need development, more on the attitude and idea level which do not show to be as experimental and new in real life especially when bureaucrats do the shady-looking business behind citizens’ backs and wish to make it look like something new and dazzling. Yes it is a grande WTF.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guggenheim_Helsinki_Plan#Conflicts_of_interest

The rich patron the arts when public funding is not sufficient or otherwise lacking or for many reasons. It is almost duty of those with means, a good deed, a shield with which to fight against all evil, against banality to show extraordinary, against bad taste. Critics who may and will give unpleasant and so unearned criticism may point out what art is for. Substantial wealth created with suspicious ways and those ways hidden with help of playing a patron of arts seemingly a good thing is the normal that belongs to culture of charity done by the super-rich, ideology of trickle down is a good thing there like ever. Therefore I am as all should be very suspicious when the art and business world play the part of being on the side of good as a whole. Guggenheim is a good example of rhetoric in which imported culture is worth more than local G having an uplifting effect on a small operator, an international influence and contacts which supposedly are always a good thing.

Error establishing a database connection: Question since I am puzzled: Why did Nazis steal all the art treasures during WW2? Was art like money in bank or did they love art?

Art in Diplomacy and Conflict | Episode 34

http://covertcontact.com/2015/12/26/art-in-diplomacy-and-conflict-episode-34/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

to listen is worth your while.

All male panel on how to become a woman. Best of Pussy. You create yourself.

Also men having an expert conversation on menstruation is one I would like to go and listen to.

How does one become a woman, to become part of a gender that is specific, recognizable, is to know what are the things people of that gender do and what they look like, are about. What are women about then? The problem of being part of a pure idea, a perfect ideal to live by can be binding, womanhood which is controlled and firmly obedient to tradition. Obedience is strongly expected of young women as it is for children. Women who act against the rules have something wrong with them. There is something wrong with her, she is not right, she is trouble, she is wild, she is a warning sign. Women who do not fit in, do not fill up given criteria, do not appeal, please and do right are punished, silenced, killed, abandoned, isolated, stigmatized etc. Means are many and they are in use all over the world. Men do the talking for women, have opinion on women’s issues, lives, looks, decisions, education, rights and prohibitions.

One becomes a woman realizing there are fewer options for women than for men. She understands she is not allowed to do the same things as men are, she utterly sees how different her life is compared to men and it is very difficult to change that situation. This is one way to womanhood, comprehending it. To be a woman is to learn to defend oneself, defend children, defend childhood, take care of others, be emotional, be what you are expected to be and still be more, do otherwise than you are expected, do what you want to do and face the consequences. Caring, kind, speaking softly, not speaking, not daring, avoiding dark alleys, strangers, avoid stigma of any kind, or you can have your own way and face the consequences.

A never-ending mirroring of your body and image. Hey beautiful how are you feeling?
First you get yourself a pair of tits, you start to think about how you feel, how transformation made you feel from girl to a woman from man to a woman. You are not happy the way you look, you are not happy who you are? You feel bad, you feel good. You are an emotional body figuring out how to be a woman and what a woman does.
You think are your breasts big enough and how they look, how they should look and whose breasts you idolize and think look good and sexy, how your belly looks and is it flat enough. Images in your head. Are you legs long and firm enough, how much skin can you show, how your ass looks and can you wear tight clothing. What kind of response do you want from those who look at you and are you interested in what other people think. How depended women are on other people’s opinion and judgment?

Remote to where you are standing.

Interesting dilemma of where we are and in what kind of relation our position is to our existence, what our breathing and living in a place means to us and to a place. Geography either impresses or feels like a nuisance and a turn off. A wasteland, a desert, city of millions of people, an island what kind of interest do we have to a place often is self-interest, a place that means something to us. A meaningful place has a story, history (there is not a place that would not be investigated, named, found, made to state human interest). What is a place of interest for a person is what that person wants and how life of that person connects with places. Also in art places are important. We are not without place, we cannot be without connection to a place, to places usually in plural. Art is situated, placed, set and artists are based living and working somewhere and it is mentioned to help situate the artist to a scene and mindset. What kind of impact a place has on a person, her/his work and what is thought of that person as an artist in a place and outside a place is play of imagery and imagination, system of values, something almost impossible to change. Connotations, images in mind, assumptions, dreams and knowledge true or false create an interest. It is assumed it is more interesting career-wise to have an exhibition in a certain place for certain kind of crowd to see it. Exhibition has to be written about for it to have a life. Art usually has to be experienced by people, seen and talked about, big is more visible than small but silence is scary and loud.

Size, heavy or light, and position, a place near or far where should we go and what to do there? What makes an interesting story, what makes a valuable place?

beauty of a fence

Those things defining us. Do we have class?

As it is we no longer have class of people who are paid to create craftsmanship in handiwork. Handiwork is more or less arbitrary and random, lots of knowledge is lost. What has replaced handiwork and is there more value in the work done and left undone? We have not lost our need to do handiwork, experience physical work, to look at beautifully and carefully done design and detail in buildings, in public places and in furniture. We have lost class of beauty and time, historical continuation and certainty of something lasting. We do not have time for doing handiwork, money to pay for it, details that take time and last couple of life times or more, usually more. Such craftsmanship that takes years to master and build up. This all shows culturally poor times and blind way of thinking where money dictates how much time we have, what could be done and what we can do. It is no wonder unemployment is high, no wonder feeling of worthlessness is higher than high.

What does it mean to be working class? It has meant things taken for granted and any variation to those things is still intolerable.

What kinds of characteristics class has is a story of people belonging to a class and what is outside of a class. Point being there is inside and outside of class between which communication is little, formal and suspicious. They think they know each other, they think they know all. Meaning of class awareness has meant different things for working class than for the middle class, who have been more content in quality of their lives, this is my conclusion. Working class wishes to imitate the middle class trying to match the quality of life for which they are entitled especially what comes to schooling, healthcare, day care etc. Middle class are those who feel their material needs are met, their offspring has chances in life to make something of themselves to follow needs of their own, or their families, all people belonging to this class have more chance of being content in their lives and see a brighter future, healthy and prosperous. There definitely has been a phenomenon//way of making things happen, that can be called looking after each other within a class, a solidarity between members of the same class, an awareness of similarity, knowing people and standing on the same level which connects and which form of communication can be difficult to attain when one comes from another class, higher or lower.

Reality of classes, conflicts, barriers and contempt between them which historical massive load is upon us, on us and within us is something inescapable. My class, which I was born to, has been a working class continuation in several generations. I come from very strong idea of work being the most important factor in life, an honorable thing and measure of worthiness. Schooling has not been seen as important although to me personally it was the most important thing. I lived to learn and still do. Therefore it is odd in my family that someone studies as much as I have (it has been possible) and hopefully I still will. Not to mention that one is an artist which is not work at all unless one is famous and makes money and it was said to me artists come from different class than I do, but that probably is not working class related thought. It is class and gender related issue that my capabilities are questioned over and over again. There has been strictly work for men and strictly work for women, strictly work for those others who come from different background. It is as if I am escaping something I cannot escape even though I do not escape I create. I don’t continue in a circle which to me is a dead-end.

Reality of struggle, old-fashioned thinking of the working class is very much build in me as background, fear, suspicion, disbelief and guilt, root and as a political view to life. Politics has always been an issue and everybody has had an opinion, not sure if the case is so anymore. Indifference seems to be the case. Basic idea for working class is to find a job, get married and have children. It is the traditional way in which nothing much changes but the society around to which we must adapt. That is also the breaking point of working class: difficulty to adapt to new thinking, difficulty to absorb new ideas, people and thinking, difficulty to see bigger picture, difficulty to adapt that their children do not want the same anymore, that their children are not extensions to their parents and do not continue something that was but make history of their own. Maybe it is something all classes share and that is why they are classes, divided and separate. Thoughts of worthlessness or superiority are often passed on and they drag us down.

One part and problem of working class is and has been low self-esteem of which scare, doubt and refusal to accept new tell. Fear to be active part of change, create movements and become change via education, open-mindedness and being curious. There is curiosity within working class but there is also inability to look further and beyond oneself, inability to think oneself as something else. Panic over losing one’s job and not being able to think alternatives for oneself is one example of being fixed into position given and not believing in oneself, not being able to think oneself as capable for many things but stuck without possibilities. Working class has been put down this way and they put themselves down. They who have power have made people think they should be scared and continue history of fear. Work is basic building brick of working class. Those who are scared for losing their position and wealth want people who do not believe in their possibilities, do not rebel, do not try to find alternative choices for themselves and don’t jeopardize power of those who stand on higher ladder. Now maybe even more as work is scarce and hard to find threats play an important role. One detail is striking, how long it takes for working class to rebel, rebel for what cause should be a question and they should find an answer (rebel not for themselves only), understand that they are the key in changing anything in the end. It is probably easy to continue the same work, the same daily routines, watch the same TV-shows, see the same people and read the same news papers. How to survive the shock when people lose these familiar things in their lives? When it is not possible to drive to work, when there is no work to go to, when we have to change what we eat, what we do, think, what we wear and what we talk about, not because we cannot personally afford but because ecologically our life style is unsustainable and wrong? Working class macho life style usually looks down on anything that hints to hugging trees and saving the environment. Gays and artists are the worst and to them there is a distance kept which works as a safety zone. Reluctance to understand and take part could not be more clear. To say we don’t understand also means we don’t even want to try. Time of no TV, no malls as we are used to having and no private cars maybe?

Does the UK really need ‘wealth creators’ and ‘hardworking people’?

https://peopleandnature.wordpress.com/2015/06/14/towards-a-real-fusion-of-socialism-and-ecology/?blogsub=confirming#subscribe-blogFrom its side, since its fundamental critique is technical (we have a better science, ecology), not political, the green movement has failed to engage the working class at all. Both sides sit entrenched in their own theories and snipe at each other.”

Empatiatodistus: muumileima sian pakaraan.

Ihminen ainoastaan toteuttaa omaa oikeuttaan ottaa luonnosta tarvitsemansa palauttamalla sinne ainoastaan jätteensä. Jos tapamme ottaa tarvitsemamme olisi luonnollinen luultavasti emme joutuisi käymään moista keskustelua, koska silloin kunnioittaisimme muita elämänmuotoja ja niiden elämiä, ylipäänsä muita. Eläinlääkäri Suojalan argumentti ihmisen luonnollisesta taipumuksesta empatiaan eläimiä kohtaan on vähintäänkin arveluttava. Lihatuotannon yhteydessä ihmisen hyvyydestä puhuminen on etovaa.

https://ilmasto-opas.fi/fi/ilmastonmuutos/hillinta/-/artikkeli/ab196e68-c632-4bef-86f3-18b5ce91d655/ilmastomyotainen-ruoka.html
