We all have things we believe in, things we work for to happen because we think we can make a difference in the world. We are active in our aspirations, in our force, abilities and thoughts. We think there are things that are the wrong way. Only thing that causes change in human life and existence is that we work for it no matter what. What are the odds, what are my chances, what are the things I can do, what are the ideas I can stand behind and pass forward as good. We have to choose. To choose right and wise is to see what is beneficial for all, the good of all, the best solution to make prosperous and peaceful existence, co-existence. Many do not care what to believe in as long as they are safe and deserving themselves, get glory for what they do and are respected in their community for it, for doing what the most do, exist in the way which is common, acceptable, going with the flow, what sells and is listened to, eating it all with good appetite and burping afterwards. Piles of garbage following. What is the crowd listening to at the moment other than media frenzy, media savvy, media fun, laughter, distraction, attraction, comedy of politics? Who do people listen to and why, why are they so entertained? What are the goals of a crowd who are afraid of losing what they have but still laugh at the destruction, afraid of losing their jobs but do nothing, losing livelihoods, homes, opportunities because there is nothing one can do? Do people have other goals than to have a job, family, home and normal continuity, desire of belonging to community that will take care of its own? To take care of its own, there is nothing wrong with that, with caring, but do people care about eventually? Caring of interests of a group of people, world is very divided. Then there are those who do not belong no matter what they do, what happens to those and why they do not belong. What is wrong with those who are different? They seek answers which are not liked.
Dynamic group is something which works together well. It can solve problems within and deal with difficult issues, find information to learn to know things it does not understand. It means there is the understanding of psychology and issues emotions bring within different people. To seek knowledge and learn from mistakes is what is lost, certain kind of curiosity towards the unknown is needed to be successful and innovative. What does this got to do with -isms we choose to stand for? Feminism, anarchism, communism, environmentalism and whatever ideology which seeks to object to the common standard worldview we like to accept and are afraid of, to object totalitarian and fascist market which swallows all, abuses all there is to abuse. Should we play its tune and play nice to be accepted and be safe? As a feminist one is accustomed to being on the other side. One needs only to be vegetarian and an artist to be an outsider, weirdo and explain over and over again the very basic issues which are every day basics to that weirdo. Do I snap often? Yes. It is painfully slow the rate of change and how most people do not grasp it no matter how you explain it. It is no wonder I am used to saying I am from outer space, Hello Earthlings.
Does this frustration make me want to become something which would easily melt in, something which could be easily understood and accepted? No, because it is an impossibility. I do not fit in so I do not even try. I tell this because to please the crowd is tempting. It is tempting in many ways and we like to be liked. To me it means to be a sell-out. I don’t want what the most seem to want, an easy life where one does not have to struggle for one’s beliefs, against something seemingly mightier. A world where it is easier to believe what magazines say because they have authority, spread and are listened to, paid attention to more than they deserve. Thanks to social media we share media information, we share it for free. We share ads, ideas of what the world should be, looks like to be and by doing this sharing we make a collective, a collective mind, we drum the same drum. Who opposes? Too bad this market tool makes filthy loads of money for those who own this machine. What do we do other than share information, our imagined beliefs, emotions, ideas, noise which we are free to make because we can. What kind of space does our voice make and how much of our own this voice is? When one is a feminist there is a possibility to be hated on the web. Some are rightfully afraid of being slashed in the open for their ideas and words. To speak against a construction which is a massive tool of oppression is scary itself but many have chosen to act against it, because they see it is the right thing to do. To know in your heart and reason what is the right thing to do in this age where human life and life as such is cheap, easily taken, trashed, sold, bullied, tortured for whatever reason, for ignorance, indifference, for selling out. Reasons to kill someone can be minor, but one can die if one does not fight for what one believes in, having found a better way to live.
There are destructive ways to live and we can do much less damage for the earth and for all beings living wiser, consuming less. When for example one is against consumerism, market economy, exploitation of resources, exploitation of labor, making all what one represents for sale to benefit one’s cause can be damaging to that cause. To make noise and be heard does not mean one has to sell one’s soul and ideas. It shows lack of judgment, it shows vanity. There are things that must be 100%. Consumerism is 100% destructive, it is fun and message sent via that machine may be seen by many people. What is the span of a message given through a large magazine? Truth is via a commercial ad-filled magazine one can be made known and accepted as a speaker and thinker halfway. Is that the right way for someone who is absolutely against capitalism’s ill?
