Countries with borders and interests to protect, guarded borders (guarded people?), wealth and interests acknowledged by law at least what comes to corporations and interests of theirs and doing business. Rights taken or given by and for people or by part of the people for the other part to flourish. Existence recognized by other neighboring nations in the eyes of rest of the world is important when people stay oppressed without any glance of light in the future. Eyes and ears of the rest of the world is media to which noise made we react which reacting seems fairly simple on the internet. We rage, we pay no attention to the real issues only to scandals which are easily forgotten unless they are not in the air constantly. To react and act on something important we may see and feel an unjust happening, sequel of events for which true intentions and reasons may stay hidden, true villains are not to be caught. Feel we must do something about things can happen virtually to raise awareness but what happens in concrete reality. Still it is alarming how little we have power in use personally. How individual roar is heard when something has to be done to save the civil society, decency and integrity in the world it can be a fight against the windmills. Something has to be done and it often means to risk one’s safety, livelihood, privacy, name etc. at the expense of one’s private life. To stay interested in the world is important not only of one’s own life. Apathy and feeling of no means to influence is what those who use power wish us to have. To risk personal all for good of man and the planet is what many have done as means to make a difference seem to have run out. There are always ways to act.

What is it we give permission to when we permit nations to rule the world and not people thinking nations represent people when it is plain clear case is not so. Corporations and nations who represent themselves only and interests of wealth making. We like to think people equal nations. For some reason people have very little to say over politics done in many places and even here in democratic Finland many feel they do not see equality nor democracy happen as it should.

Ways of living and thinking which largely differ from each other as we know, make a strange quilt which we try to understand and often times fail as we see our ways the only correct and other ways as strange and unfamiliar, threatening to identity, prosperity and peace. Try to understand why and what but don’t quite seem to manage and many examples of how nations who think are exceptional and great do not want to understand because they think there is nothing to understand when they are better. This all is repetitious not new, when we see our way of life the right kind and the other very odd, irrational and threatening, savage, ridiculous, simple and underdeveloped we like to think we are superior and civilized. Ways of exceptionalism are ways of imperialism and profit-making with no end growth, which to think is absurd and wrong that there are nations better than others, people above other people. Problem lies often in how we manage to see savage ways of ours as civilized and justified, conquering as something elevated and right. We justify our way of living and existing via how good we are and good is defined by how much money we manage to make, how famous we are in the eyes of the world. To say this is how things have always been done is probably the worst kind of phrase to hinder progress and not understanding doing differently. When different is odd and incomprehensible change is difficult and threatening. For bureaucrats and those using authority to change is difficult as power balance changes as well which is not what authority wants, to share power and wealth. When our ways are the best and there will not be a better way of doing things it is no wonder society is unable to move ahead and thrive. The best ways do not stay best when the stay the same.
