Let’s have a converstation

Looking for new Nokia because the old one went BONK. We are desperate, but we are not able to correct things we do wrong. I don’t know why.

Bridges? I didn’t see any bridges. Did you see bridges? They must have had beautiful arches those bridges just like ones in historical bridges. Must have been like rainbow kind of bridges, colorful and sudden big in the sky. How do you burn that kind of bridge? You cannot burn something that is not there.

Strangely enough NOKIA slogan was NOKIA connecting people. brrr brrr hello? In Finland that is more than ironic. I should say so yeah.

Problem is revealed when it is said that pornofication of pop culture is not anybody’s fault. We really cannot do much anything about it.

Pop stars who cannot be confronted by issue of pornofication say it is their art, is only telling for young girls they can make money this way and it is fun.

If it is so that to be able to say something is as an act harmful and wrong and is banned, permission to criticism is banned because some people cannot handle critique they get, what kind of culture are we talking about? What is the value of that culture, to grow into a culture where taking one’s clothes off equals money, work and opportunity for fame? Feminists are against such harm done to young people which is quite obvious and some say cannot be done anything about because of freedom of expression. Sex and exploring sexuality in public for entertainment purposes can and must be talked about, discussed so that those who like to call soft porn art of theirs and justified understand their responsibility. The more wealthier you are the more responsibility you have. Where is the fault and who has it can be asked because to take the blame is to take responsibility. Pop stars often say it is their private fantasies they make visible and they have the right to do so. It does not differ from porn much. Pop is largely consumed by very young people who look up to their idols and many look for career with big bucks. What kind of skills are required one can ask?

How to change political culture that desperately needs to do a turn but is not able to?

Are there enough people willing to commit and make a lasting turn of political machine? It takes time and knowledge of which kind of system does work the best for a whole country. It takes people’s decision and will to make that change. When people are fed up with politics, are not interested in it enough such turn is difficult to make. If people have to be scared for their lives for making politics that benefits all instead of few it can seem impossible and future looks as it was dictated by those in power. When we have understanding how future is in the hands of people who are effected by politics, when those under influence feel their opinions and makings matter we are on better way to changing politics that does not work well enough at the moment.
It is once again ironical how on the money euro zone uses there are pictures of bridges that symbolize unity and togetherness, possibilities of moving, links and common history and how little united Europe actually is. Money seems to be the only thing we share and that too on symbolic level. Immigrant issue being one stepping stone as countries do not want flood of refugees be shared. When only good things, not problems, are shared and sharing happens on symbolic level unity is not complete. It is mockery of a union where there is no trust. How could there be when politics of Europe is not accountable, transparent enough, banks grab all the wealth they possibly can along with power. Money is power and it is a poor symbol of any unity.

How to change this culture of distrust, bad rule and power of money? It is of course a million euro question. To take the easy way is not an answer.

Is there someone Rodin didn’t fuck?

Men are racy, masculine, righteous, fun-loving, talented, strong, doing whatever their gender is suppose to do as given to them, gender that has been conducting its calling without much objection because no one is opposing truly or giving other kinds of behavior models, when there is no one with authority telling what is not right to do, authority has to be taken. When authority thinks everything is alright and art represents the good in society it is time to look in to the mirror.

Women do the same as men they are crazy. She breaks the unwritten rules of what is good manner of the business. To my recollection something as good manners has not existed in art. An unknown female artist is a prey as is art student.

Sexism in art is not dealt with. It is alive as ever. To become an artist one has to start from dealing with sexism within the scene. It is so strikingly open, alive and approved that it is unbelievable. Civilized and sophisticated? Anything but. It is a legitimate fear that the person who addresses these issues openly will be shut out.

Payback time?

To my knowledge those who are paid more look down on those who are paid less. Those who are not paid at all are in worst situation. We get paid by what we deserve? I truly hope so. My simple conclusion is that humans are dictated by money, ranking of value of people is done by what one possesses and is paid. Money has straight forward correlation to professionalism and ability. The more one is paid the better that person is at what she or he does. How to prove one’s capabilities in this kind of system is to make friends with those who have got the money, impress them in their game and do the same as those who have money do. What kind of culture this creates is interesting and something we have right now. Credentials to one’s professionalism are more valid the more professionals one knows personally, the more opportunities one gets is via being known. It makes a culture of contacts not friends. To be able to say one is in is a sign of having wealth of relationships, circles which have made the illusion of making something good and valuable. Risks in closed up circles is that they rot inside without those who are inside noticing, without them having the courage to step outside that safe haven of security when they notice they should. Power corrupts, culture needs to be reinvented, something has to be destroyed. To fall high is scary but sometimes it has to happen. Wish it happened more often.

We expect art has testimonial value, sensitiveness and truthfulness for it to be appreciated as image of us.

What is lie in art is its unwillingness of changing when it thinks it changes all the time, inability to see in what kind of world we live in, inability or reluctance to confront the facts and do something about the issues that clearly aren’t right (not just show how things are wrong but do something to correct the situation), realities of people pictured, stories told, truths of those portrayed and those who make art can make a weird scene where we can be worried how things are wrong but not see how things truly are wrong in the business and what kind of impact art has in the world, good image is not good enough. Lie in art is to make a lookalike of everything is fine when they are not, not to do anything to sexism, discrimination, worker rights, authority of institutions, underpay and overpay and who actually gets paid. Art is evidently a needed industry but who needs it most? It is sad how terribly art is abused and undervalued especially by those who work within art. To say how things are is not a crime, not to say anything is.
